The Modern Nursery Founder Laura Williams has a breadth of knowledge with 10 years experience at luxury British fashion Houses; Burberry and Jenny Packham. During her career Laura specialised in Planning, Merchandising and Digital commerce.

When she fell pregnant with her first daughter, she was seriously underwhelmed by the baby items available in the UK market, and was surprised to see very little going on in the Digital and Social commerce space.

Laura wanted to build an online hub that offered something fresh and unique, with exceptional service. She started to buy desirable brands from all around the world, particularly Scandinavia, and the business was born. The Modern Nursery is now one of the leading Independent children's online stores in the UK showcasing world class brands for kids furniture, décor and toys.

Laura has a passion for all things social and has built the business through Instagram primarily (280K followers and growing!) and has worked with celebrities including Ferne McCann and Billie Faiers in The Modern Nursery's Interior Design Service, inspiring her audience to design and redecorate their kids rooms. Laura also runs her own Instagram account @laura_themodernnursery (6K) to give insight to running a growing business with a young family, to inspire other female founders.
